Kushinagar. A major road accident has occurred in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Four people were killed and 29 were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck here. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.

Bus number PB 30N 8878, carrying laborers for paddy transplantation from Madhepura in Bihar to Patiala in Punjab, collided with a truck laden with sand on the National Highway near Hata Nagar. Two laborers died on the spot and more than a dozen were injured in the accident. The incident happened around 2 o’clock in the night. The people of the neighboring villages reached the accident spot after hearing loud noises.

Police took all the injured to CHC Hata, where the doctor declared Puran Sada, 18 years resident of Barahi police station, district Madhepura, Bihar and Dhiren 18 years resident of Bellary district Madhepura as dead. While going to the hospital, Sushil’s 30 year old son Sukan resident Barahi, Madhepura and Hriday 50 year resident Barahi police station Madhepura died. More than a dozen people including the contractor Rajesh, Rajkumar, Vikas Sada, Vijay Sada were injured in the accident.
80 people were on the bus
About 80 people were on the bus. All the laborers and tenants are residents of Madhepura district only. The workers remained upset due to non-availability of proper treatment at the hospital. Kotwal Rajendra Kumar Singh said that the injured were rushed to the hospital as soon as they got information about the accident. The complaint has not been received yet. All were laborers, were going to plant for livelihood.

He told that every year he goes to the farming season and works there as a laborer. Return home after a few days. They have also been told that they will get more than double wages in comparison to Bihar. The police is taking advance action by informing the relatives of the laborers.
