Lakhimpur. Dilbag Singh, an important witness in the Lakhimpur Kheri Ketikuniya incident and the District President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, was attacked on Tuesday night. Two miscreants riding a bike on Dilbag Singh’s car fired several rounds and escaped. However, Dilbag Singh was not harmed in this firing. Let us tell you that two other witnesses related to this case have also been attacked.
According to the information, on Tuesday night, Dilbagh Singh had fled from Rahimnagar Grunt village of Gola Kotwali area, leaving two companions in his car. When he was returning after leaving the sakhis, the bike-borne miscreants who were ambushed between Bhaded and Mooda villages started firing on Dilbag Singh’s car. In which a bullet hit the wheel of his car. One wheel was punctured in the attack. After walking some distance, as soon as Dilbagh stopped his vehicle on the side of the road, the attackers came near the window.
Seeing the miscreants close to him, Dilbagh Singh folded the seats of his car and defended himself by continuously blowing the horn. During this, the bike riders fled after seeing some villagers passing by. The information of the incident was given to the top police officers including Gola Kotwali in the night itself. Police is busy investigating the whole matter. It is said that there was no security personnel involved in the security of Dilbagh Singh at the time of the incident.
Police Officer Rajesh Kumar said that the cause of the incident is being investigated. A case has been registered on the complaint of the plaintiff. All aspects related to the case are being closely investigated by putting up several teams including police, SOG. Strict action will be taken against the accused by exposing the matter soon.
