Varanasi: District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwas will now hear the pending case of worshiping Goddess Shringar Gauri on a daily basis in the Gyanvapi complex and keeping the deities of other deities in the premises safe. After the order of the Supreme Court on Friday, the files related to the case will come to them. Till now the matter was being heard in the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Rakhi Singh, a resident of New Delhi, Lakshmi Devi, a resident of Banaras, Sita Shahu, Manju Vyas and Rekha Pathak. He had also demanded from the court to maintain status quo on the spot. Apart from the state government, the District Magistrate, Commissioner of Police, Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid Committee and Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust have been made parties in the case. After the proceedings of the Advocate Commissioner on the order of the court, the report has also been filed in the court. Two applications are pending. Out of these, one has been filed on behalf of the plaintiff and the other on behalf of the District Government Advocate. After the order of the Supreme Court, the matter will be heard afresh.
Regarding the order, Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Jain says that we are very happy with the order. The Supreme Court says that the matter will be heard by District Judge Varanasi. The interim order of May 17 will continue for the security of the Shivling area. Waju will be arranged. On the other hand, counsel for the respondent Abhaynath Yadav says that the Supreme Court is very serious. This case has been transferred, which means that the Supreme Court may have felt that the proceedings that have been taken so far are not legal.
On the other hand, just a day after the Advocate Commissioner’s proceedings in the Gyanvapi Masjid and make-up case, Friday prayers were held in the Gyanvapi Masjid in a tense atmosphere. A large number of Namazis had arrived as compared to normal days. The situation was such that they had to turn back many people as there was no space in the mosque. Despite this, some people remained adamant on going inside. They were sent to other mosques after persuasion. A large number of forces were present to maintain the security system. Barricading was done everywhere.
