Meerut. Farmer Virendra was murdered late on Wednesday night due to electoral rivalry on the Jewari village road of Kankarkheda. The attackers had been threatening continuously since the election. The batons with which the farmer was beaten to death, the police have not been able to recover them from the spot. On the complaint of the victim’s relative, a murder case has been registered against two named and two unknown accused including the present village headman at Kankarkheda police station.

Gyanendra son Vishamber, resident of Jewari village in Kankarkheda police station area, has told the police that on the night of May 4, she was in the Shagun marriage pavilion located near Shraddhapuri in the marriage of Akash, son of Kankarkheda, resident of his relative Anil son Rajpal. In the marriage, Gyanendra went with his brother Virendra Singh along with Subodh’s son Sheeshpal. From the wedding ceremony late at night, he rode back on two bikes. On one bike were Bhushan’s sons Devi Sahai and Virendra Singh, residents of Jewari village, while Gyanendra and Subodh were riding on the other bike. From Highway-58 towards Jewari village, about three hundred meters away, Pal had reached near the sweet shop, when the alto car riders, Jewari village head Shibbu alias Shivkumar and Krishna alias Omkar and two unidentified persons suddenly came to the fore. The four people, including Pradhan, had an electoral rivalry with Virendra Singh. After which Shibbu and Krishna alias Omkar together with their two companions attacked Virendra with sticks. The noise was raised, but the attackers were hitting hard. Meanwhile, when other people going to the village from the wedding arrived, the attackers fled after threatening them. The injured was rushed to Kailashi Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
