The Kanpur team of Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) raided the residence of Jagat Gupta, the producer of Dayal Pan Masala near Indian Bank in Old Gallamandi in the town on Tuesday morning. Even after passing 15 hours, the action continued till night. Along with finding many flaws in the document, the team has got a huge amount of cash from the residence of the pan masala businessman.
It is discussed that cash worth Rs 6 crore has been received. Three note counting machines have been procured from State Bank of India. Three big boxes have also been ordered at night. The officials involved in the team refused to say more, saying that there was a lot of cash. An official said, all the information will be given by the commissioner by issuing a press release. On the other hand, the Income Tax Department team is also expected to come from Kanpur by night.
The CGST team arrived at around six in the morning in five vehicles to raid the residence of a pan masala businessman. During this, when a mini truck came out of the house carrying goods, the team stopped it. Seeing the team outside, the main gate was closed, which was not opened for a long time. The main door of the house is electronic. It can be opened through code. On pressurizing the team, the businessman opened the gate.
A dozen officers included in the team conducted a thorough search of the entire residence. No member of the house was allowed to go out. The milkman was also returned from the gate itself. The team opened the lid of the water tank on the roof of the house and checked it by running it with a stick. Opened the box of the electric generator and saw. During the search, bank accounts, business related documents, laptops have been seized.
It is discussed that the team has found a lot of errors during the reconciliation of accounts. Around five o’clock in the evening, the team got three machines from the bank to count the notes. It is being speculated that a huge amount of cash has been recovered there. Around nine o’clock in three vehicles, some members of the team left for the headquarters, the rest remained in the house. An Innova arrived home at around 10 pm with three big boxes. The boxes are believed to have been ordered to keep the recovered cash.
Machines came from SBI for counting: Around five o’clock in the evening, the team got three machines from SBI for counting notes from SBI. It is being speculated that a huge quantity of CAS has been recovered there. The members of the team opened the lid of the water tank on the roof of the house and checked it after running it with a stick. At the same time, after opening the box of the electric generator installed inside the house, it was also searched.
Forcibly opened electronic gate: The main door of the house is electronic. It can be opened through code. Three cars returned at nine o’clock in the night: During the raid, there was a gathering of local people. After about 15 hours of action, three out of the five trains went towards the headquarters, filling the speed. At the same time, the income tax team is expected to come from Kanpur by night.
