Lucknow. Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, who attacked security personnel sitting on guard outside the Gorakhnath temple premises in Gorakhpur, has confessed to his crime in the interrogation of Uttar Pradesh ATS. The video of the interrogation is also viral, although Dainik Jagran does not confirm it.
In the viral video, Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi said that wrong is happening to us, this is the only justification going on in my mind. That’s why he attacked. The accused Murtaza, who has done engineering from IIT Bombay, has made a viral video saying that he climbed on the tempo. We said to drop it at Gorakhnath temple itself. The police is there, on that we will do our work. During this some work will be done for me. He said that we were thinking from many angles. CAA and NRC are also being done, wrong is happening with us. That was the only justification running through my mind. He said that before doing any work, man also searches for its justification. Wrong happened to Muslims in Karnataka too. We thought someone had to do it. no are not. So we thought do it now brother. There was a lot of depression in my mind. He also went to Nepal, he said that we could not sleep in Nepal also.
The ATS investigation so far has revealed that Murtaza, who was allegedly reading terror lessons through the internet, had started thinking of himself as a sacrificing man in the path of Allah. Murtaza feels that the world is after Islam and has become an enemy of Islam. In such a situation, even if he kills some enemies, then he will become a beloved servant of Allah. Uttar Pradesh ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that it has already been told that the incident of attack on policemen outside the Gorakhnath temple premises is part of a larger conspiracy. All aspects are being investigated. The police is also investigating the video which has surfaced today. Action is being taken against whatever the accused is telling the facts. The teams of Uttar Pradesh ATS are continuously interrogating the accused.
It is believed that by snatching the SLR rifles of the PAC jawans, Murtaza could have targeted the devotees who had come to the Gorakhnath temple that day. He also had an idea that he would be a victim of police bullets while carrying out this incident, but he was considering it as ‘martyrdom’. When the officers asked Murtaza if he knew how to operate an SLR rifle, he said that he had learned to shoot a lot with the air gun kept at home. But how to load-unload the rifle is learned on the internet. Murtaza Ahmed had bought two bankers and knives on the Indo-Nepal border itself. After Sunday afternoon, he came back to Gorakhpur by bus. After this, Murtaza directly reached the Gorakhnath temple and attacked PAC personnel Anil Paswan and Govind Gaur at the temple gate itself.
It is worth mentioning that on Sunday at the southern gate of Gorakhpur’s Gorakhnath temple, a person named Murtaza Ahmed Abbasi injured two PAC personnel deployed in temple security with a sharp weapon while raising religious slogans. Now UP ATS is investigating in this matter.
