Lucknow. Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the central government for the continuous increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. He said that if this situation continues, till the next election (urban body elections) comes, the price of petrol per liter will be Rs 275.
Explaining the calculation in a tweet on Saturday, Akhilesh said, ‘The public is saying that if the price of petrol keeps increasing at the rate of 80 paise per day or about 24 rupees per month, then the next election (urban body elections) will be held in November-December. Meanwhile, the price will increase by about Rs 175 per liter in seven months. Meaning petrol will increase to Rs 275 per liter from today’s Rs 100.
This is the math of BJP’s inflation: Akhilesh has made this taunt on the ever-increasing prices of petrol and diesel. In fact, in five states including Uttar Pradesh, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increasing continuously since the assembly elections were held last month. For the 10th time in the last 12 days, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased on Saturday.
