Lucknow. Dr. Masood Ahmed, who resigned from the post of Rashtriya Lok Dal’s state president accusing the SP-RLD alliance of selling tickets in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, has said that the alliance lost the election because Akhilesh Yadav had accepted it with great enthusiasm. He is going to become the Chief Minister. The result came in reverse. Dr. Masood also did not fail to say that tickets are sold in all political parties except Congress. He told that by forming a non-political organization called Bharatiya Kranti Morcha, he will continue to fight for the minorities, Dalits, backward and farmers by raising their voice. Morcha meeting will soon be held in Moradabad.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Dr. Masood Ahmed said that there was a wave of coalition because of the farmers’ movement. It is another matter that the alliance lost due to overconfidence, confusion over seat-sharing and confusion in distribution of tickets. There was no unity in the alliance and distance remained between its constituents. The seats that Jayant Chaudhary was asking for, did not get them. Many of our leaders who were MLAs for two-three terms and who were recognized by the public, could not contest the elections. Being the state president of the constituent party, he himself was preparing to contest from Tanda but he was not considered worthy of the ticket.
Dr. Masood Ahmed said that after the first phase of assembly elections, RLD President Jayant Chaudhary and SP President Akhilesh Yadav were nowhere to be seen sharing the stage. Due to the misbehavior with Azad Samaj Party President Chandrashekhar, the Dalits moved towards the BJP. Targeting the leaders of the coalition, he said that those who want Muslim votes should remain silent on issues related to Muslims.
Dr. Masood said that while the alliance was a victim of overconfidence, the BJP leaders gave full force in the election campaign. However, he also accused the BJP of trying all gimmicks and doing dishonesty through EVMs to win the elections.
