New Delhi. The opening match of the Indian Premier League 2022 will be played between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata. Before this all the teams have started their training. But the team’s concern has increased with England all-rounder Moeen Ali not joining CSK so far. Moeen is one of the players retained by CSK. He was retained for an amount of 8 crores. The team has started its training in Surat but Moeen Ali is yet to join the team. The reason behind this is being told that their travel documents are not clear.
He had applied for his visa on February 28. More than 20 days have passed since the application was submitted. They keep coming and going to India, despite this they are facing difficulties in clearance of travel documents. He said that as soon as he gets this clearance, he will reach India on the next flight. Team CEO Kashi Vishwanathan gave this information. He also told that BCCI has also assured to help us, hopefully they will get the clearance by Monday.
The employees of Gujarat Titans are also stranded due to this reason-
Like Moin, a member of the Gujarat Titans coaching staff is also stuck in London. The Ahmedabad team has recently added Abdul Naeem of UK and Mithun Manhas of Delhi to the team.
Manhas (42) has joined the squad in Ahmedabad but Naeem, who had previously worked for Sunrisers Hyderabad, is awaiting his travel clearance in the UK. “We are sure that the issue will be resolved soon,” a Titans official said.
Both are associated with Gujarat Titans as assistant coaches. Manhas (42), a former Delhi batsman who is currently looking after the Jammu and Kashmir state team, will take over as the fielding coach. Earlier he has also worked for Kings XI.
