The Rashtriya Lok Dal, which had an alliance with the Samajwadi Party in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, has suffered a major setback ahead of the legislature party meeting on March 21. Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Dr. Masood Ahmed has tendered his resignation by making serious allegations against party chief Jayant Choudhary.
State President of Rashtriya Lok Dal and a big face of Uttar Pradesh politics, Dr. Masood Ahmed resigned from the post on Saturday. In a letter sent to party president Jayant Chaudhary, he has alleged neglect of Dalits and minorities along with selling tickets in the assembly elections. He alleged that the coalition that won the election lost it due to its own mistakes. He said that the leaders involved in the alliance were not taken any help in the elections. They were of no use. Rashtriya Lok Dal State President Dr. Masood Ahmed has accused Jayant Chaudhary of giving tickets by paying money.
The SP alliance had to face defeat in the Uttar Pradesh elections. This time, even though Rashtriya Lok Dal’s seats have increased in the election, the alliance could not reach the majority mark. Since then, the displeasure of the leaders is continuously coming to the fore. In the past too, the displeasure of many leaders involved in the SP alliance has come to the fore. After which now the state president of Rashtriya Lok Dal, Dr. Masood Ahmed has resigned from his post on Saturday. Earlier, many units were disbanded by Jayant Chaudhary.
In alliance with the Samajwadi Party, the RLD had a chance to contest 33 seats. In this, it won eight seats. In Baghpat, which was considered a stronghold, he had to be content with only Chhaprauli seat. Baghpat and Baraut seats may be considered as the stronghold of the party, but from here the party was only disappointed. Dr. Masood alleges that the party got only eight seats out of 33 due to the infighting of the workers and office bearers angry with the selection of candidates.
