Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) reached Varanasi on Friday before the last phase of voting for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022. The PM did a road show here as well as offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. During this, the special style of the PM was also seen. In the Kashi Vishwanath temple, where the PM was seen playing the damaru, after a while the PM was seen sipping tea at the tea shop located in Assi (PM Modi Enjoys Chai). Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present along with the PM on this occasion.
In fact, Modi had reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi after addressing a rally in support of BJP candidates in neighboring Mirzapur district. He started the roadshow after garlanding the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Maldahiya crossroads. Modi started his first roadshow in Varanasi from this place after filing his nomination papers for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. After covering a distance of about three kilometers from different areas, the Prime Minister went to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, where he offered prayers in the traditional way. From the temple, he left for Lanka Chowk where he garlanded the statue of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, concluding the huge public relations program. During the roadshow, people raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev” and showered rose petals.
Wearing a saffron-coloured cap on his head and a scarf around his neck, Prime Minister Modi was accepting the greetings of the people. People stood on the ridges of the roofs of their respective houses to greet and welcome the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Modi worshiped Mahadev by playing Damru in Kashi Vishwanath Dham. While sharing the video of the Prime Minister playing the damaru on its Twitter handle, the Bharatiya Janata Party tweeted, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication towards his religion and culture is no less than an inspiration for all of us. Devotees of Baba playing drums in Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
Whereas in Lahurabir, some people welcomed Modi by singing religious hymns. In Kabirchaura, people were seen dancing on religious couplets. BJP city president Vidyasagar Rai said that Modi will stay at the guest house of Banaras Rail Engine Factory (BLW) at night. Three assembly constituencies of Cantonment, Varanasi North and Varanasi South were covered in Modi’s roadshow. Temple sources said that the Prime Minister was received there with the playing of “Damru”. The priests said that they performed Shodashopachar Puja of Lord Shiva in the temple. Rai said the prime minister will conclude his visit on Saturday with a rally at Khajuria village in Rohaniya assembly constituency and will also address the people of the other five assembly constituencies of Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency there.
