Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday filed his nomination papers for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections from Gorakhpur Sadar seat. Home Minister Amit Shah was also present in the collectorate during the nomination of Yogi Adityanath, who was going to contest the assembly elections for the first time.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had arrived on foot along with Amit Shah to file the nomination papers of Gorakhpur Collectorate. Dharmendra Pradhan was also with Amit Shah. CM Yogi Adityanath was not given official protocol there during this period. Yogi Adityanath did not reach here as the CM of UP, but as a candidate.
CM Yogi Adityanath filed his nomination from Gorakhpur Sadar assembly seat on Friday. He has filled the form in two sets. Tight security arrangements were in place during this. Home Minister Amit Shah was also present in the nomination. Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) commandos were deployed in the security arrangements of the Collectorate premises. During this, all types of vehicles were banned from Hariom Nagar towards Kachari intersection. Home Minister Amit Shah was welcomed with floral showers during this period.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath filed his nomination from the city assembly constituency on the very first day after the notification was issued in the district under the sixth phase of the 2022 assembly elections. At 12.45 pm, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan reached the collectorate premises and filed nomination in two sets. The Union Home Minister was also present in the nomination hall during the nomination. On the first day, no one else filed the nomination papers, but some potential candidates from different assembly constituencies bought nomination papers.
The process of nomination started after District Election Officer Vijay Kiran Anand issued the notification in the morning. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath walked from the main gate of the collectorate complex towards the enrollment hall. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP’s state election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, State President Swatantra Dev Singh, National President of Nishad Party Dr. Sanjay Nishad were also present with him. At around 12.45 am, the Chief Minister along with his proposer Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation Vice President Vishwanath and Home Minister went to the nomination room (Room No. 24) for Gorakhpur city in the Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Court. Completing the formalities, he handed over his nomination papers to Returning Officer (RO) Kuldeep Meena. UP CM Yogi Adityanath also has a mobile phone. Which he has also mentioned in his affidavit given at the time of nomination today.
The Chief Minister came out of the nomination hall at 12.49 am. After two minutes, he again went to the nomination hall along with former President of Proposer Chamber of Industries Surendra Kumar Agrawal and Municipal MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal and filed nomination. During this, the Home Minister and other leaders sat on the sofa outside. At 12.55 all the leaders came out of the collectorate premises together. The Home Minister and the Chief Minister displayed a winning posture and left for the Gorakhnath temple. During this, BJP MP from Khalilabad Praveen Nishad, Gorakhpur city MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal and Nishad Party candidate from Chauri Chaura Sarwan Nishad were also present. After the nomination of the Chief Minister, Aam Aadmi Party’s Gorakhpur city candidate Vijay Kumar Srivastava also took the nomination papers.
