Gorakhpur. The CBI, which is probing the Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta murder case, on Friday filed a charge sheet in the Special Judicial Magistrate Court in Lucknow. In the investigation, the CBI has convicted all the six policemen for destroying evidence by killing them under conspiracy with the same intention. He is to appear in court on January 10.
Manish Gupta, who came to visit Gorakhpur with friends, was beaten to death by policemen on the night of 27 September 2021 at Hotel Krishna Palace in Ramgarhtal area. On September 29, on the complaint of Manish Gupta’s wife Meenakshi, police station in-charge JN Singh, Inspector Akshay Mishra, Rahul Dubey, Vijay Yadav, chief constable Kamlesh Yadav and constable Prashant, who were posted at Ramgarhtal police station, were booked for murder. On the orders of the Kanpur Police, the SIT of the Kanpur Police started the investigation from October 2. On the recommendation of the State Government, on November 2, the CBI started the investigation by registering a case in this case. While recording the statement of 30 people.
