The farmers surrounded the police and officers who had arrived to take possession of twelve and a half bighas of land near the village of Gumi in Meerut district on Wednesday. There was a heated argument between the officers and the farmers. There was also a scuffle. The farmers climbed on the JCB and the women lay down. There was a ruckus for several hours, after which the officer and the police team returned to Barang.
Several years ago, the MDA had taken 12.5 bighas of land from the forest department near the airstrip. In lieu of this, the forest department was asked to give land at another place. It is being told that the forest department had demanded land from MDA. After this, on Wednesday, the officers of MDA and Forest Department reached near Gumi village with JCB and got the JCB run on the ground.
During the operation, the farmers reached with sticks and sticks. There was a heated argument with the officers. Showing the order of the Supreme Court, the farmers claimed that the said land belonged to the farmers. Seeing the matter deteriorating, the officer and the police returned bereft. Dozens of farmers including BKU leader Dr. Amarveer Singh, Laxman, Subhash, Madanpal, Heenu were present. At the same time, Authority Secretary Chandrapal Tiwari says that no team of MDA had gone to get possession.
