Lucknow. The Narendra Modi government, which is making great efforts to make the country’s internal security ready, is now in great preparation to curb terrorism to cyber crime. In this regard, there will be a brainstorming in the 56th DGP conference to be held in Lucknow from Friday. Home Minister Amit Shah will launch it today while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend it on November 20 and 21.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 56th Annual Conference of Directors General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General of Police (IG) being organized for the first time in Uttar Pradesh on November 20 and 21. Along with the Prime Minister, senior police officers of the country will brainstorm on issues ranging from cyber crime, counter-terrorism challenges, Left Wing Extremism, new ways to check drug trafficking to prison reforms and police modernization. There will be a series of discussions on the internal security of the country.
Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the conference organized in a joint format on Friday. DGPs of States/UTs, heads of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations will participate in the conference to be held at DGP Headquarters, Gomtinagar in Lucknow. Along with this, remaining invited police officers will participate in the conference through virtual medium from 37 different places in IB/State IB Headquarters. Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Directors of IB and CBI will participate in the conference on all three days. The main event of the conference will be held on the ninth floor of the DGP Headquarters. There will be about 68 guests in the program.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken keen interest in the DGP conference since 2014. He has been encouraging free and informal discussions by participating in all sessions of the conference. This gives top police officers a great opportunity to directly brief the Prime Minister on key policies affecting the country and issues related to internal security. The guests were arriving since Thursday evening to take part in the conference being held for the first time in Lucknow. Guests will be accommodated in three exclusive guest houses and hotels.
PM will have dinner at DGP Headquarters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Lucknow airport from Jhansi at around 8:45 pm on Friday night and will go to Raj Bhavan. On November 20, at 9 o’clock in the morning, the Prime Minister will take part in the conference after reaching the DGP headquarters by road from Raj Bhavan. At seven in the evening, the Prime Minister will go back to the Raj Bhavan from the DGP headquarters and will return to the DGP headquarters at eight in the night and attend the dinner. The Prime Minister will also stay at the Raj Bhavan on the night of November 20 and will attend the conference after reaching the DGP headquarters at around 9:20 am on November 21. After this, at around 4:10 pm, the Prime Minister will go to Amausi Airport from the DGP headquarters and will leave for Delhi from there.

From the year 2014, this annual conference has been started outside Delhi. Earlier this conference was traditionally held in Delhi itself. Last year, due to Corona infection, a virtual event of the DGP conference was held. Prior to this, DGP conferences have been organized in Guwahati in 2014, Kutch in 2015, National Police Academy Hyderabad in 2016, BSF Academy Tekanpur in 2017, Kevadia in 2018 and IISER, Pune in 2019.
