Pakistan’s star opener Mohammad Rizwan has impressed fans and veterans with his aggressive batting in the T20 World Cup. In the second semi-final against Australia, he once again hit a stormy half-century, on the basis of which Pakistan managed to score 176 runs. In this match, despite being injured, Rizwan remained at the crease. Pakistan’s batting consultant Matthew Hayden praised the batsman and told that Rizwan was in the hospital even before the match.
Rizwan scored 67 runs in 52 balls in the second semi-final on Thursday. He hit three fours and four sixes in his innings. He had a good partnership first with Babar Azam and then with Fakhm Zaman. Seeing him during the match, it was difficult to guess that he was in the hospital the night before.
Rizwan was in the hospital before the match
After the end of Pakistan’s innings, Matthew Hayden told that Rizwan had a problem of bronchitis (a problem in the lungs that causes a lot of cough) due to which he was in the hospital one night. In the match being played in Dubai, Rizwan said, ‘Rizwan was in the hospital last night, a day before the match. But he is a surma. He gave a great performance to the team today. Babar supported him and the pair did a good job.
Hayden’s statement on Kohli-Babar comparison
Earlier, Matthew Hayden had also given a statement regarding the comparison of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. He had said that there is no doubt that Virat Kohli has achieved more achievements than young Babar Azam so far but when it comes to ‘constant response to the ball’, the Pakistani captain is also second to none. During a conversation with Pakistani journalists from Dubai, Hayden said that considering the excellent batting ability, comparisons between Babar and Kohli were expected as both are captains. Hayden, however, feels that Babar is not as quick as Indian captain Kohli.
He said, ‘Look at Babar and his personality, you see his batting also (like his personality). He is pretty consistent. He is quite permanent. But he is not very aggressive.’ Hayden said, ‘The way I look, they are opposite to each other. Babar looks very restrained most of the time and captains and bats closely whereas Kohli is very passionate and expresses himself with expressions and is very energetic on the field.
