New Delhi. Kane Williamson-led team New Zealand has made it to the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. New Zealand team has entered the final after defeating England in the first semi-final match of the mega event. This is the third time in a row that New Zealand’s team has made it to the final of the ICC tournament and Kane Williamson has been the captain of the team all three times.
After losing to Australia in the final of the 2015 ICC ODI World Cup, the New Zealand team struggled a bit. The team could not even make its place in the semi-finals of the 2016 T20 World Cup. Even the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 did not prove to be good for the Kiwi team, but after that the New Zealand team changed its game and surprised everyone.
In the year 2019, when the next ICC event happened in the form of ODI World Cup, the team led by Kane Williamson made it to the final. New Zealand’s team almost won the title, but after the first match and then the Super Over tie, England was declared the winner due to hitting more fours and sixes. This was a big setback for the Kiwi team, as the team was defeated in the final of the second consecutive ODI World Cup.
However, the calm-headed captain Kane Williamson did not give up and again in 2021, the team made it to the finals of the ISIS tournament. New Zealand ended the title drought by defeating India in the final of the ICC World Test Championship and now the team has also entered the final of the 2021 ICC tournament. In this way, three times in a row, the team has made it to the finals of the ICC event. Kane Williamson has been the captain of the team all three times.
