Lucknow. Chhath, a four-day festival of folk faith celebrated across the country, has started from Monday morning. The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has declared a holiday on this festival. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to declare a holiday on November 10, respecting the public sentiments on the occasion of Chhath Mahaparv. He has said that in the districts where Chhath festival is celebrated on a large scale, the District Magistrate can declare a holiday at the local level. It was also said that in the districts where big fairs are organized in the month of Kartik, the District Magistrate can also take leave. He also stressed on making people aware about the Kovid protocol during these festivals and fairs.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was holding a meeting with the district level officials regarding the management of festivals and fairs to be held in Chhath Puja and Kartik month through video conferencing at his official residence on Monday. Due to the celebration of Chhath festival in most of the districts of the state, it is believed that November 10 will be a holiday in almost all the districts. The Chief Minister said that the festival of Chhath is celebrated on November 10 and 11. On the occasion of Chhath, there is a possibility of congestion on rivers, lakes etc. in metropolitan cities like Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Lucknow etc. including eastern Uttar Pradesh. Adequate arrangements should be made for cleanliness and security on the banks of rivers, ponds etc. on Chhath festival. It is worth mentioning that the state government has already kept Chhath festival as a restricted holiday.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the month of Kartik, fourteen Kosi and Panchkosi Parikrama are organized in Ayodhya. On this occasion, along with the cleanliness of the Parikrama Marg, arrangements should be made for security, lighting and drinking water and other public facilities on it. Devotees take bath in the holy rivers on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. In view of this, proper arrangements should be made for cleanliness, security, parking etc. on river banks.
Dev Deepawali is organized in Varanasi on Kartik Purnima. It is a big event, which attracts a large number of devotees and tourists. Considering the importance of Kashi, special caution should be taken on Dev Deepawali. Cleanliness, security, lighting should be done on this occasion. In the festivals and fairs of Kartik month, people should be made aware about corona infection through public address system. In view of the festivals and fairs, the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police at the district level and the Divisional Commissioner and IG Range or DIG Range at the divisional level should do regular review.
Make arrangements for night shelters from now on: After passing the festival of Diwali, the weather is also taking a fast turn. There is also a possibility of more cold this year. In such a situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed concern about the shelter of poor and destitute people. Yogi has given strict instructions to make arrangements for night shelters from now on. During the video conferencing on Monday, it was said that nodal officers should be appointed to improve the arrangement of night shelters. The police, along with the local municipal body, should ensure that no poor and destitute person is forced to spend the night on the footpath, square, under a statue or in any other open place. The police should patrol continuously and such people should be given a place in the night shelters immediately.
