Mumbai. Former Indian team all-rounder Ajit Agarkar has given a statement regarding the great match between India and Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Ajit Agarkar believes that whenever the teams of India and Pakistan face off in the World Cup, the stakes are always high. He also said that the Pakistan team may not be able to present a challenge of that level considering the form and strategy of the Indian team.
Former cricketer Agarkar while talking on Star Sports said, “Whenever teams of India and Pakistan face each other in a mega event, the stakes are always high, but given the current form of Team India, I don’t think that Pakistan will have a good chance of winning the match.” The team will be able to present more challenges. However, we don’t have to take them lightly because cricket is a fun game and things change at any moment, especially in the T20 format.”
On the 2007 T20 World Cup where India defeated Pakistan in the final, he said, “The whole tournament of the 2007 T20 World Cup was a dream tour for us. We didn’t think that this young team of youngsters could achieve that too. Against Pakistan. I think a match between India and Pakistan always brings a tidal wave of emotions and it is one of the most anticipated matches in the World Cup.”
Ajit Agarkar was part of the team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007, but did not play in the final match. In place of Ajit Agarkar, captain MS Dhoni gave Joginder Sharma a chance and Joginder Sharma was the one who bowled the last over of the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup and gave Team India a spectacular victory. India has not lost to Pakistan in T20 World Cup till date.
