Lucknow. STF has arrested a fraudster of a gang involved in forgery by changing the engine and chassis numbers of trucks in Lucknow. According to STF CO Deepak Kumar Singh, the accused Bhawani Kheda Kakori resident Subhash Chandra has been caught, from whom many other items including forged papers and three trucks with fake registration have been recovered.
CO STF said that ADG STF Amitabh Yash had instructed all the units to take action against the gang who rigged the registration of trucks. After this, on September 29, two people were arrested and seven fake trucks were caught in Agra. During the investigation about the gang, it was found that some fraudsters of the gang are active in Bhavani Kheda. After this STF raided there and caught Subhash Chandra. During interrogation, the accused told that his owner, Akhilesh Singh alias Abhishek alias Manoj Lone, buys the defaulted vehicles at a low price. By bringing these vehicles to Bhawani Kheda, fake registration numbers of trucks are prepared with the connivance of RTO employees. After this, the original chassis number marked on the trucks is erased and the second chassis number is written. Not only this, Naseem and Babu alias Mumtaz of the gang used to remove the original strip on the engine number and dash board and put another strip. This would make the code number document and engine and chassis number one. After this the gang used to get loans on these vehicles. The accused told that he used to grab money from the bank by taking loan several times on the same vehicle. Later, by defaulting the installment, they used to register an FIR of theft of the vehicle. STF is investigating about other fraudsters involved in the gang.
