Prayagraj. In his first interaction with the media after being anointed as the head of the Baghambari Math, Mahant Balbir Giri has said that he is confident that the agencies probing the death of his guru Mahant Narendra Giri will bring out the truth very soon.
“I am deeply saddened by the sudden demise of my guru (Narendra Giri), due to which I have refrained from speaking to the media. I am sure the truth will come out soon,” he said on Thursday.
Balbir Giri was consecrated as the head of the Math on Tuesday. He explained how he would carry out the daily tasks of the prestigious Math.
Giri said, “I am a Digambar Sanyasi and have been following the Sanatan tradition for the last 18-20 years. I will place my decisions in front of my senior sages of the Akhara and seek their guidance and if I am right, they will take my decisions.” will bless you.”
Mahant Ravindra Puri, secretary of Niranjani Akhara, had earlier announced that a five-member ‘supervisory board’ would oversee the functioning of the Math, which is part of the Niranjani Akhara. For all major decisions like selling or buying land, Balbir Giri will have to take the approval of the five-member administrative body.
Apart from Ravindra Puri, the other members will be Mahant Dinesh Giri, Mahant Omkar Giri, Keshav Puri and Mahant Har Govind Puri.
Balbir Giri further said, “I have sought the blessings of all the saints and requested them to pray for the peace of my Guru’s soul, so that the functioning of the Math can go on as usual during the period of my Guru.”
On his relationship with Niranjani Akhara and how he will strike a balance with the Akhara, Balbir Giri said, “There is no question of finding balance, I am a part of the Akhara and I am also one of the members of ‘Panch Parameshwara’ of the Akhara. .’ I will work for the betterment of the monastery.”
