Lucknow. In Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, violence took place even before the riots, but the fight between the government and the opposition has been going on since the incident. On the first day itself, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra left for Lakhimpur after reaching Lucknow from Delhi, but was stopped in Sitapur and taken into custody. After the announcement of going to Lakhimpur Kheri, National General Secretary of Bahujan Samaj Party Satish Chandra Mishra was placed under house arrest. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was returned from Lucknow airport. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and PSP president Shivpal Yadav took to the street in Lucknow to protest, who were later released in custody. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was also taken into custody in Sitapur. Now former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is also trying to go to Lakhimpur. However, the government has rejected the permission sought by him to visit Lakhimpur Kheri.

Bahujan Samaj Party will fight the legal battle of the case of four farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. BSP General Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra announced the formation of a team of senior lawyers to fight the farmers’ case free of cost. He said that this team will ensure that no one guilty of this incident goes unpunished.
After the Lakhimpur incident, Priyanka Vadra, adamant on the insistence of meeting the victims’ families, has raised serious questions about her custody. He issued a statement alleging that he was forcibly taken into custody illegally. They have been imprisoned in Sitapur PAC premises without any legal basis, violating their constitutional rights.
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will also not be able to visit Lakhimpur Kheri. The government late Tuesday night rejected the permission sought by a five-member delegation led by Rahul Gandhi to visit Lakhimpur Kheri on Wednesday. Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra, who was going to Lakhimpur Kheri, was taken into custody in Sitapur.
During the violence in Tikunia of Lakhimpur Kheri, the dead farmer Guruwinder Singh was cremated on Wednesday morning in Mohania village of Bahraich. On this occasion, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, Gorakhpur IG Akhil Kumar, Devipatan Mandal DIG Rakesh Singh, District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chand, Superintendent of Police Sujata Singh are present on the spot along with heavy police force. In view of the demand of the family members, a special team of doctors from Lucknow, who came to the district headquarters on Wednesday morning, conducted the postmortem.
