Gorakhpur. Eager to make Uttar Pradesh gallop on the path of development during his Chief Ministership, Yogi Adityanath on Saturday gave a big gift to the state. This gift is very valuable and useful for Tajnagri Agra and Kanpur.
CM Yogi Adityanath is on a visit to his Karmabhoomi Gorakhpur since Friday afternoon. On Saturday, after daily ritual worship, cow-service and public darshan, CM Yogi Adityanath unveiled the first prototype train of Kanpur and Agra Metro through video conferencing from his office in the courtyard of Gorakhnath temple. During this, he expressed hope that this metro train will prove to be a milestone in the development of Agra and Kanpur.
The Chief Minister said that this is a moment of great joy. I feel happy that Uttar Pradesh, the state with the largest population of the country, is today striving to operate this excellent facility of public transport in its four cities. In fact, safe and comfortable public transport like metro is the need of the hour. On the occasion of virtual unveiling of the first prototype train of Kanpur and Agra Metro, I congratulate the office bearers of UP Metro Corporation and M/s Alstom Transport India Limited for providing an excellent facility in the public transport system.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that at present metro service is operating in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida in the state. Presently UP Metro Rail Corporation is working on a war footing to provide public transport service of Metro in Kanpur and Agra. In Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi and Meerut also DPR has been sent for the service of Metro or else this process is in the final stage. Soon these cities will also be in a position to provide this excellent service of public transport. He said that during the Corona period, everyone has seen the functioning of UP Metro Rail Corporation without stopping, without getting tired. This is the reason why we will be in a position to dedicate Kanpur Metro Rail to the nation around 30th November.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that efforts will be made to get it started with the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Yogi Adityanath said that with the help of metro rail service, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of self-reliant India is also being realized. During the virtual unveiling of the first prototype train of Agra and Kanpur Metro, the Chief Minister also congratulated all the officers and employees including the Managing Director of UP Metro Rail Corporation associated with Vadodara, Managing Director of M/s HTM India Transport Limited for this.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Metro is the best medium of public transport. He expressed happiness over the fact that the first prototype train has been made available ahead of time despite the adverse conditions of the Kovid period in the Vadodara undertaking.
Chief Minister flagged off Kanpur Metro coaches
After a long wait, three coaches of Kanpur Metro finally left from Samli plant in Gujarat on Saturday morning. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the coach from the plant in a virtual way from Gorakhpur itself in the morning. These coaches will reach the depot at Polytechnic in Kanpur in the next 10 to 12 days. They will be assembled there in the next few days. After that they will be tested in the depot located at the Polytechnic itself. The Metro will be seen running on a track built inside the Polytechnic and it will be tested at a maximum speed of 90 kmph.
Agra Metro will have two corridors
Agra Metro Rail Project in Tajnagri Agra will have two corridors. These two will pass through the heart of the city and will connect several major tourist destinations including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Sikandra as well as ISBT, Raja Ki Mandi Railway Station, Medical College, Agra Cantonment Railway Station. It has a length of 14.00 km from Sikandra to Taj East Gate and has 13 stations. Including six elevated and 7-underground. The length of the Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar corridor is 15.40 kms, with all 14 elevated stations. About 20 lakh population of the city is likely to be benefited by the Agra Metro Rail Project.
30 stations in two corridors of Kanpur
The construction work of two corridors is going on in full swing in Kanpur Metro in East Manchester Kanpur. The priority part of Corridor-1 is expected to start from December 2021. It will be the fastest to be built and commissioned metro system in the world. In Phase-1, 22 metro stations will be built on the first corridor from IIT Kanpur to Naubasta and 8 metro stations on the second corridor from Agriculture University to Barra 8.
