Rampur. The government has now occupied the entire land of Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan’s Jauhar University. On Thursday, the Tehsil team, which reached the university, evicted the Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar Trust of Azam Khan along with capturing the land. This trust runs the university and Azam Khan is its president, while his wife city MLA Dr. Tajin Fatma is the secretary.
The team under the leadership of Tehsildar Sadar Pramod Kumar reached at three o’clock in the afternoon to take possession of Jauhar University land. The Tehsildar spoke to the Vice Chancellor of Jauhar University, Sultan Muhammad Khan. He was asked to sign the intervention but, he expressed his inability to sign, claiming himself to be an employee. On this the action of eviction of 173 acres of land was taken in the presence of two witnesses and the police.
In the month of January itself, the Tehsil administration had vested this land in the government. Then the court of Additional District Magistrate Jagdamba Prasad Gupta had ordered to vest this land in the government. In protest, the Johar Trust went to the High Court, but on September 6, the court rejected his petition. Upheld the decision of the administration. Only after this the Tehsil administration has taken eviction action.
Jauhar University used to have about 265 acres of land, but now only 12.50 acres are left. This land is also being told outside the university campus. This land was first bought by the trust, so it has been left in the possession of the trust, the rest of the land has come in the possession of the government.
The trust violated the conditions: The Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar Trust is run by the Jauhar University and it is a minority institution. In 2005, the state government had allowed Jauhar Trust to buy more than 12.50 acres of land, then some conditions were also imposed. The trust had then said that it would provide free education to poor children and do charity work, but BJP leader Akash Saxena complained to the chief minister, alleging non-compliance with these conditions. When the administration got the investigation done on the orders of the government, then the violation of the conditions was found to be true. The trust has to submit a progress report to the District Magistrate on April 1 every year, but the trust did not give any report. Rules were also violated in the purchase and sale of land. After this, a case was filed in the court on behalf of the Additional District Officer Administration.
Dispute over land: Enemy property has been occupied as Waqf. Irregularities were also found in swapping the land of Chakrod. Similarly, allotment of land in Kosi river area was done wrongly. Apart from this, 101 bighas of land belonging to scheduled caste people was purchased without permission. District government advocate Ajay Tiwari said that 12.50 acres of land belonging to scheduled caste people was bought without permission, due to which the government has already occupied it. Similarly, 26 farmers were also in possession of about three acres of land. His land was also given back by the administration.
SP and one thousand policemen used to search for buffalo: During the SP government, 95 police personnel were engaged in the security of Azam Khan. When his buffalo was stolen, the SP and one thousand policemen were engaged to find him. Time changed, Azam Khan is currently in jail. When the team reached to take possession on Thursday, no one came forward to protest.
Yogi government will take control of the university: Only 12.50 acres of land is left with the university, while 50 acres are required as per the rules. This is the reason, the Yogi government is preparing to take it under its control. For this the administration has sent a report to the government. After the order of the High Court, the government has also taken possession of all the land of the university.
