Barabanki. 18 people died tragically in a horrific road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki. A speeding truck hit a double-decker bus from behind on the Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway in Ramsnehighat police station area of the district. In this accident 18 people died, while 19 people were injured. All the injured have been referred to Lucknow Trauma Centre. The accident happened around 1.30 pm on Tuesday. It is being told that the bus was going from Haryana to Bihar.
In Barabanki, a double-decker bus on the Kalyani river bridge at the Ayodhya border broke down at around 1 pm due to axle breakdown. Due to heavy rain, the driver and the operator were getting the bus repaired by standing on the side. Meanwhile, an uncontrolled truck going from Lucknow side at high speed rammed into the bus. The collision was so strong that most of them died on the spot.
Lucknow Zone ADG Satya Narayan Sabat said that a truck hit the bus late last night near Ram Sanehi Ghat in Barabanki. In this accident 18 people have died while 19 have been injured who have been admitted to the hospital. Rescue operation is going on to retrieve the bodies trapped under the bus.
By 3.30 pm, the bodies of four people were buried at the spot, while the death of 11 was confirmed by CSC Ramsanehighat. While one died in Barabanki District Hospital. A total of 18 bus passengers have died. Among the dead, Suresh Yadav, Indal Mahto, Sikandar Mukhiya, Monu Sahni, Jagdish Sahni, Jai Bahadur Sahni, Baijnath Ram, Balram have been identified so far. After the accident, the national highway was blocked for five kilometers. Due to heavy rain, the police also got information about the incident after about half an hour.
