Dehradun. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat inaugurated the new Oxygen Generation Plant at Almora Medical College’s Base Hospital and Almora District Hospital through virtual channels. One thousand liters per minute (LMP) from the plant set up in the base hospital and Almora district hospital will get 216 LMP oxygen. These oxygen plants are the first oxygen plant to be set up in the mountainous district of Kumaon division.
On Sunday, while inaugurating these oxygen plants, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said that this would greatly benefit the residents of Almora and surrounding districts. This will also reduce the load of patients in Sushila Tiwari Hospital, Haldwani. He said that after medical colleges and district hospitals, arrangements are being made to set up oxygen plants even to community health centers.
In view of the third wave of Corona, all preparations have been asked to be completed. The government is making every effort to effectively control the corona. The Chief Minister said that most of the people aged above 45 years have been vaccinated in the state. The vaccine is also being received from the Government of India from time to time. Vaccines are also being imported from abroad for rapid vaccination in the age group of 18 to 44. He said that efforts are being made to start the academic session at Almora Medical College soon.
Along with this, additional food grains are being made available to the ration card holders by the state government. MP Ajay Tamta said that the people of Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh districts would also benefit from the setting up of an oxygen plant in Almora. Rekha Arya, Minister of State for Women Empowerment and Child Development (Independent Charge) said that constant efforts are being made to improve health facilities to fight the fight against Corona. The work of setting up an oxygen plant at Someshwar has also started, which will be completed soon.
Assembly Deputy Speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan thanked the Chief Minister for setting up the plant. DM Almora Nitin Bhadauria said that a 20-bed ICU ward is being constructed in Almora, which will be ready in a week. BJP’s District President Ravi Rautela, CDO Navneet Pandey, CMO Dr. Savita Hayanki and Principal of Almora Medical College, Dr. RG Nautiyal were also present in the program.
