Dehradun. While there is still time for the Amarnath Yatra to begin, Baba Barfani has visited Viraj in Timmarsain in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. In the cave situated on the hill called Timmarsain in Niti valley of the frontier Chamoli district, the ice Shivling has taken shape, and the dripping water in the cave is watering them. Since the commencement of the Timmarsain Yatra from April 7, a large number of devotees are visiting Baba Barfani daily. However, RTPCR’s negative report of corona investigation has been made mandatory for devotees coming from outside the state. The yatra will run till 30 April.
Timmarsain Mahadev is near Neeti village in Neeti valley, 82 km from Joshimath in Chamoli district, bordering the international border. Local people worship Lord Shiva here, but due to the inner line in the past, people from other areas were not allowed to come here. Last year itself, Timmarsain was taken out of the ambit of the inner line by the central government. In view of this, it was decided to take steps in the direction of economic improvement of local residents by promoting pilgrimage and tourism activities in the area. In this series, the Timmarsain Yatra has been duly started from this year.
According to Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, Baba Barfani is seated as a Swayambhu Shivling in Timmarsain. It is believed that Lord Shiva had rested at this place during the Kailash Yatra. That is why this place is also famous in the name of Sausa Mahadev. Now, pilgrims do not need to get an inline permit to visit Timmarsain Mahadev. He said that the pilgrims who reached the darshan of Baba Barfani were welcomed in this journey lasting till April 30.
Chamoli District Magistrate Swati Bhadoria told that all arrangements have been made for the Timmarsain Yatra. Medical team, SDRF team is stationed in the area. At present, arrangements have been made for the passengers to return within the day itself. Under this, entry is being given till 11 am, so that devotees can visit Baba Barfani and return in the evening.
He said that the records of the pilgrims going to the yatra are being registered in the checkpost opened in Suraithota and their record is being kept. At the same time, District Tourism Development Officer of Chamoli, Bijendra Pandey said that a negative report or vaccination certificate has been made mandatory for pilgrims and travelers coming from other states for 72 hours before arrival.
