Dehradun. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat is joined by Ajay Bhatt, MP from Nainital, on the cabinet’s decision to postpone the decision of the previous government of the Garsain Commissionerate. Bhatt termed the government’s decision as a welcome move. At the same time, the Chief Minister has expressed satisfaction with the announcement of the Chief Minister to reconsider the Chardham Devasthanam Board.
MP Bhatt said in a statement here that Bageshwar and Almora districts of Kumaon division were witnessing a lot of protest from the day of the announcement of the formation of Garsain Commissionerate. Being the representative of the people, he had put the public sentiments before the government. He said that now he deserves congratulations for the decision the Tirath government is taking, respecting public sentiments on sensitive issues like Garsain Commissionerate and Devasthanam Board. According to Bhatt, he had also said in the past that the Chardham Devasthanam Board should first be discussed with the pilgrim priests and right-holders of Chardham.
Although even then the government set up the Devasthanam Board with the aim of doing good work, but some subjects had doubts about their interests in the minds of the right-wing people. He hoped that Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat would take steps only after talks with all right-holders, Panda and Purohit society before taking any decision in such a subject in future.
