Meanwhile, the NIA is trying to gather more evidence against Sharma, who allegedly supported Vaje in the case of an explosive-laden SUV Scorpio car near Antilia, the multi-storey residence of top industrialist Mukesh Ambani in South Mumbai.
During interrogation, Waje has indicated that he purchased gelatin sticks and in this case used them as explosives, which he did through Sharma’s contact. This is a revelation that would clearly require documentary evidence to prove in court.
Commenting on Sharma’s close ties with Waje, BJP spokesperson Ram Kadam said, “I don’t want to comment on the criminal nexus of these police officers. But I can at least confirm that Sharma Waje’s mentor And it is a fact that is known to all in the police. ”
Sharma, who resigned from his post of high-profile police officer to contest assembly elections on a Shiv Sena ticket in 2019, runs an NGO, the PS Foundation, which is blessed with several police officers, including Waje.
Sharma has been visiting Vaje’s crime branch office in the sprawling building of Mumbai Police Headquarters.
An Mumbai police officer involved in the investigation of the Mansukh Hiren murder case said, “What makes Sharma suspicious in this case is not only his association with Waje, but his few important meetings with the accused, which is a crime. The meetings indicated that Sharma was trying to help Waje, who was caught on camera holding a threatening letter in an explosive-laden vehicle. ”
Sources said that Pradeep Sharma, who had once been Waje’s boss in the crime branch, met his former subordinate Waje at the Mumbai Police Headquarters in the first week of March.
Sources also said that apart from meeting Waje, Sharma also met Vinayak Shinde, a co-accused in the murder of Mansukh Hiren. The explosive-laden SUV belonged to Hiren.
The accused constable Vinayak Shinde has previously worked with Sharma and he met Vaje for allegedly through the encounter king.
Sources said that another important meeting was held between Sachin Waje and Pradeep Sharma outside the Crime Branch office. It is likely that the meeting was held in the western suburbs of Mumbai.
After a series of such meetings, Waje was not seen in his office for several days afterwards and was eventually arrested by the NIA on the night of 13 March.
It is believed that Pradeep Sharma and Sachin Waje were close since their early days in the police department. The encounter later came close to the pair’s Shiv Sena leadership. Vaje had joined Shiv Sena even before Pradeep Sharma. Vaje had joined the Shiv Sena in 2007 and was appointed party spokesperson.
