Ludhiana A resident of Jhangariyan village of Nawanshahar (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) was strangled to death after being robbed by a truck owner. His rotten body was found standing near the service lane near Aldico Valley on Jalandhar Highway. The family alleges that the cash of Rs 45,000 lying with him and his mobile phone is missing. The Salem Tabri police station conducted a post-mortem in the possession of the body and handed it over to the family members after disposal of the action.
Investigation has been initiated in the case by registering a case against unknown people for murder. SI Kashmir Singh said that the deceased was identified as Harpreet Singh (30), a resident of Jhangariyan village of Paujewal police station in Balachaur, Nawanshahar. The police registered the case on the complaint of his brother Harnit Singh. In his statement, he told that his brother owns a 1612 Canter truck of Ashok Leyland Company. On March 27, he went to Faridabad by loading hers from Mandi Gobindgarh. But after that, his mobile phone was coming off from April 3. From the same day, he was searching for him along with his colleagues. Tuesday, his truck was found parked on the service lane of GT Road.
His sleeping body wrapped in a blanket was lying on the sleeping berth inside the cabin. Which smelled a lot. He feared that his brother was strangled to death after robbery. After that, he brought the truck and parked it there. Kashmir Singh said that intensive investigation is being done to find clues of the accused in the case. Call details of the deceased’s mobile phone are being removed. His location will also be ascertained. The killers are expected to be behind bars soon.
