New Delhi. Today, the stock market will be closed on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri on Thursday 11.03.2021. In such a situation, there will be no business in both BSE or NSE. Now there will be work in the market on Friday. The stock markets closed in the third straight session on the previous trading day. The market saw a boom in shares of companies related to IT, pharma and metal sectors. The Sensex closed at the level of 51,279.51 on Wednesday with a rise of 254.03 points.
Today, commodity and forex markets are also closed on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. There will also be no business in the Whole Sale Commodity Market including metal and bullion. There is no trade in commodity futures as well.
Similarly, Nifty closed at the level of 15,174.80 with a jump of 76.40 points. JSW Steel, Bajaj Finance, Eicher Motors and Sun Pharma were the biggest gainers on the Nifty in yesterday’s trade. At the same time, shares of SBI Life Insurance, HDFC Life, ONGC, IOC and GAIL closed down.
There will be a total of 14 days off in the year 2021 in the stock market. Markets will be closed for three days in April. The stock market will be closed on Good Friday on 2 April, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April and Ram Navami on 21 April. Markets will remain closed on Diwali. However, the market opens for an hour on the occasion of Diwali. Muhurt trading takes place in the evening on that day. There will be no business in the market on the eid-ul-fitr on the 13th in May, then goat eid on 21 July and Muharram on 19 August.
