The budget session of the New Delhi Delhi Legislative Assembly will begin from March 8 and the budget will be presented on March 9. Finance Minister Manish Sisodia will present the budget of Delhi. The budget session will conclude on 16 March. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Delhi cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday. Some experts are talking about an increase of five to ten percent in this year’s budget compared to last year. There is no possibility of any increase in tax in this budget.
According to Delhi government sources, the government wants to continue the public welfare schemes with betterment so that the promises made to the people can be fulfilled and they do not face any problem. As before, the government will be more focused on infrastructure including education and health, transport, water supply. There is a municipal election in Delhi next year. Its effect will also be seen in the budget. Apart from this, the government will also continue with its ten guarantees. In other words, a glimpse of these guarantees will also be seen in the budget. It is Saturday on March 13 and Sunday on March 14. Both these days will be a holiday. Accordingly, other issues will also be discussed during this eight-day budget session.
Keeping the public interest paramount, the Delhi government does not want to stop any such work which is directly connected with the public. The government had presented a budget of Rs 65,000 crore for 2020-21, which was 10 percent more than the financial year 2019-20. This year, due to Corona, no special work has been done. The improvement of education system in the capital, deployment of marshals for the protection of women in Mohalla clinics, CCTV and public buses will continue.
