Prayagraj The state government has filed an application in the Allahabad High Court to revoke the bail of former block chief Dilip Mishra, accused of carrying out a deadly attack on Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Nandagopal Gupta ‘Nandi’. The High Court has issued a notice to Dilip Mishra, who is lodged in Fatehgarh Jail, seeking answers. The next hearing will be on 18 March.
This order has been given by Justice Umesh Kumar on hearing Additional Advocate General Manish Goyal and Additional Government Advocate Ashutosh Kumar Sand. The application states that on July 12, 2010, a remote bombing of a cabinet minister Nandagopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ was carried out in Bahadurganj in Kotwali police station area of Prayagraj. Two people, including a journalist, were killed in it, while Minister Nandi suffered fatal injuries. In that case, Dilip Mishra has been granted bail by the High Court.
Seeking the cancellation of bail of former block chief Dilip Mishra, the state government said that at the time of the incident, there were 32 criminal cases against Dilip Mishra at various police stations. He currently has a long criminal history of 47 lawsuits. There is also a condition of not being involved in any criminal incident in the order of bail approval. In such a situation, the bail granted to Dilip Mishra should be canceled.
