new Delhi. Kumbh Mela is going to be held in Haridwar from 27th February this year. However, this Kumbh Mela organized during the period of Corona epidemic will be quite different from other Kumbh Melas in the past. This time during the Kumbh Mela, bhajan and bhandara will be prohibited in an organized manner at any place. The Uttarakhand government has issued these new rules to prevent corona infection. The Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Secretary of Uttarakhand has issued an order for the Kumbh Mela area, saying that during the Kumbh Mela, there will be a complete ban on organizing Bhajan, singing and bhandara in an organized manner at any place in the entire Mela area. This order of the Disaster Management Secretary has been given to the Kumbh Mela officer.
The Uttarakhand government, while issuing the order, said, “Information required for prevention of Kovid 19 in various places in each hotel and guest house, guidelines, control room number and number of nearby Kovid treatment center will be displayed. Details of guests ( Travel history, medical condition, etc.) as well as the identity card and self-declaration card will have to be submitted to the guest. The relevant documents will be kept by the manager.
People over 65 years of age, pregnant women and children below 10 years of age, very sensitive, and sick persons have been advised not to attend the Kumbh Mela. The Uttarakhand government has made this request to various states based on the central government guidelines.
According to the Uttarakhand administration, for the health and safety of the devotees, thermal screening will be done at the bus and railway station of the devotees going to the Kumbh Mela. Keeping in mind the Kovid epidemic, guidelines are being circulated by the Uttarakhand government to take precautions from those coming for rescue.
Chief Secretary Omprakash has requested the Railway Board to mandate thermal screening of Kumbh Yatris and a negative report of RT-PCR investigation.
The ‘Shahi Snan’ of Haridwar Kumbh will take place on 11 March on the occasion of ‘Maha Shivaratri’. It is also expected that before Kumbh, there is Mauni Amavasya on February 11, Phalgun Sankranti on February 12, Vasant Panchami on February 16, Arogya Rath Saptami on February 19 and Bhimashtami on February 20. In such a situation, there is a possibility of congestion in trains going to Haridwar.
