New Delhi. In the country till Monday evening, more than 6 million people have been given anti-corona vaccine. The Union Health Ministry said that India achieved the fastest in just 24 days in the world. It took 26 days to vaccinate 6 million people in the US and 46 days in Britain. On the other hand, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Monday that the availability of Corona vaccine does not mean that one should become careless.
Precaution also necessary in future
Harshvardhan said that preventive measures will need to be followed now and in the near future as well. The Health Ministry said in a statement that Harsh Vardhan presided over the program of distribution of masks and soaps among various transport unions. Harshvardhan is also the President of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS). He said, I am very happy to be a part of the initiative to distribute masks under corona activities.
These places increase the risk of infection
The statement quoted him as saying, “In Delhi itself, we have distributed masks at railway stations, vegetable mandis and other places considering the greater possibility of infection.” Harshvardhan said that the efforts of the Indian Red Cross Society are commendable. He said that precautionary measures should be followed to avoid corona even after vaccination. The government has already started the largest vaccination campaign in the world.
Masks would be helpful
Harshvardhan said that the drivers of the vehicles and their assistants travel across the country and are susceptible to infection. The masks being distributed by IRCS will help them a lot. On the condition of corona, Harshvardhan said that India has the highest rate of recovery in the world. Infection cases are also decreasing. In January 2020 (to investigate the corona virus) there was a laboratory and now the number is 2,373.
60,35,660 people were vaccinated
Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Manohar Agnani said that till Monday evening, a total of 60,35,660 beneficiaries have been given anti-corona vaccine through 1,24,774 sessions. These include 54,12,270 health workers and 6,23,390 frontline workers. Vaccination of frontline workers began on February 2. Agnani said that in 11 states and union territories, 65 percent of the registered health workers on the Co-Win platform have been vaccinated.
Vaccination status in states
These states include Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Tripura, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala. He said that less than 40 percent of registered health workers have been vaccinated in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Puducherry.
Vaccination of 2,23,298 people in a day
2,23,298 beneficiaries were vaccinated by 8,257 sessions on Monday on 24th day of the vaccination campaign. Of these, 75.12 percent of the beneficiaries were from 10 states. The ministry said that a person has been hospitalized in Kerala after being vaccinated during the last 24 hours. However, till now the death of any person is not related to vaccination.
