Bangkok | Indian men’s badminton player Sameer Verma has continued his brilliant performance and entered the quarter-finals of the Thailand Open here. Sameer entered the final 8 on Thursday defeating Denmark’s Racemus Gameko in 39 minutes of their second round. The Indian player defeated the game 21-12 21-9.
Sameer won his first game in just 20 minutes, while he won the second game in about the same time.
In the quarter-finals, Sameer will now face world number three Andres Antonsson.
Sameer defeated Ji Jia 18-21 27-25 21-19 in his first round match.
He said after the win, “I think this win will give me confidence for the rest of the tournaments.”
