Indus border. The farmers have been protesting on the borders of Delhi for the last 52 days on the three agricultural laws passed by the central government. But now many petrol pumps located on the Singhu border of Delhi are facing this movement. Petrol pumps around the border have been closed since 26 November last year on the Singhu border, due to which the pumps are losing millions of rupees every day. It is also affecting the salaries of the employees working at the pump.
The route has been closed due to protests on the Singhu border. Traffic on vehicles has been completely banned. People have to use other routes to reach their destinations. The movement has diverted routes by the police department.
Petrol pumps are empty due to lack of trains on the routes. It was informed by the staff of the petrol pump that, at the moment the pump is completely closed, the pump was stopped from 26 November. The vehicles could not come. Pump workers are sitting in the hope of ending this movement soon.
In fact, due to the closure of the petrol pump, the economic condition of the employees is also being affected. Half of last month’s salary could be given at some petrol pumps. If the matter is not resolved soon by negotiation, then in such a situation even more petrol pumps may face such difficulties.
However, even after 9 rounds of talks between the government and the farmers, no result has been achieved.
Rajendra Singh, the manager of Om service station petrol pump located at Singhhu Border, told IANS, “In the 52 days so far, about Rs 40 lakh has been lost.” Until this path is not opened in the future, there are only selections before us.
We have about 35 employees at this pump, their salary is also getting affected. I have already given salary, if this remains so, we cannot say whether they will get salary or not.
He further said, we have a stock of 70 thousand liters of diesel at our pump and 30 thousand liters of petrol stock.
About 6 thousand liters of petrol, diesel 12 thousand liters and 9 thousand kg of CNG were put into trains every day at every pump located in the border, which has now become zero.
Ram Prasad, supervisor of Bharat Service Station, told that since 26 November, one liter of oil has not been sold. If the trains are not allowed, then from where will oil be sold? When the oil will not sell, where will the owners pay the salary?
44 workers are currently working at the pump. All are hoping that some way out and the pump starts again soon.
There are 6 petrol pumps simultaneously on the Singhu border, which are completely closed. In these 52 days, all the petrol pumps have lost crores of rupees.
On the other hand, the employees working at the pump have also started fearing that their boss should not remove them from the job. All the employees are just hoping that this path will open soon and life will be back on track again.
In fact, even after five hours of brainstorming with the leaders of farmer unions to find a solution to the apprehensions that arose in the minds of farmers about the new agricultural laws, no result was found. Now the next round of talks will be held on 19 January.
With a view to improving agriculture and allied sector, the Central Government has introduced Farmer Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement Act 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act in the Corona era. 2020.
However, the Supreme Court has, however, stayed the implementation of these laws and constituted a committee of experts to resolve the issue.
