Owaisi will help us win UP and Bengal: Sakshi Maharaj

Lucknow. BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj has created another political stir by claiming that All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi had helped the BJP in the Bihar Assembly elections. Not only this, he also said that Owaisi will help us in the assembly elections in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. The BJP MP said that AIMIM’s participation in UP and Bengal elections will help BJP to win the states. He said, “It is God’s grace. May God give them strength. They helped us in Bihar and now they will help us in the panchayat and assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh and also in the elections in West Bengal.”
AIMIM has often been called the ‘B’ team of the BJP because it helps the BJP in polarizing votes on religious grounds.
However, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly resented this statement and flatly refused to help the BJP with its political party.
Owaisi contested in Bihar last year. He is said to have cut the Muslim vote of the opposition by doing so and this has won the NDA. His party won 5 seats in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region of Bihar. While the NDA won only 15 seats more than the Grand Alliance, Owaisi’s 5 seats become very important. Due to this, after the elections, the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal had called Owaisi as ‘BJP’s B team’.
Owaisi’s party has now announced to contest assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, as part of a front led by former BJP ally Om Prakash Rajbhar. Due to this, Owaisi visited some districts of eastern UP along with Rajbhar on Tuesday.
