Christchurch | The New Zealand cricket team became the No. 1 team in the ICC Test rankings for the first time. New Zealand achieved this by defeating Pakistan 2–0 in the two-Test series. New Zealand beat Pakistan by an innings and 176 runs in the second Test match played at the Hegley Oval ground on Wednesday.
The Kiwi team captained by Kane Williamson now has 118 points and has reached number one in the rankings. The Australian team is in second place. He has 116 points. India is third with 114 points and England is fourth with 106 points. South Africa is in fifth place with 96 points.
The Kiwi team has spent the last few years staying at number-2. New Zealand have demonstrated their form by beating the West Indies and Pakistan in two consecutive series.
With this, he has maintained himself in the race for the ICC Test Championship final.
However, New Zealand are in third place in this championship table. The result of the Test Championship will be based on the percentage system.
