Mumbai. Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale has given a big statement amidst the ruckus over preparations to change the name of Aurangabad to Sambhajinagar by the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra. He has said that the Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP coalition governments in Maharashtra may fall if Aurangabad is renamed. The Congress has also opposed Shiv Sena’s efforts to rename the city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra to Sambhajinagar. The Republican Party of India (A) national president Ramdas Athawale said that his party will be formed with the BJP soon in the state.
Athawale in a press conference on Sunday advised the Uddhav Thackeray government not to fall into the controversy over renaming Aurangabad. He said that his party opposes attempts to change the name of Aurangabad.
Athawale hoped that the BJP-RPI government would soon form in the state. He predicted that the BJP and RPI alliance would win in the BMC elections to be held in 2022. The mayor will be made up of BJP.
