Lucknow . In a shocking incident, a woman committed suicide by setting fire to everyone near Lucknow’s Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). According to an eyewitness, Rahul Pal, the woman came upon a red colored scooty and parked it near a roadside vendor. After walking a few steps, he poured petrol on him and set it on fire. In a few seconds she turned into a circle of fire and started running away before falling to the ground.
“We informed the police and were taken to the hospital,” Pal said. The incident, which occurred late on Tuesday, was recorded in a nearby CCTV camera.
When brought to the hospital, doctors declared him dead.
ACP Biju Singh said that the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Soumya.
The ACP said, the woman is an engineer and hails from Sitapur. We have informed his family about the incident and his father Munna Lal arrived at night. He identified the corpse. The father did not explain why his daughter took this step. The dead body has been sent for post-mortem.
Sitapur is barely two hours away from Lucknow.
Munna Lal told reporters that her daughter looked upset on Tuesday afternoon but when asked about it, she did not say anything. She later left the house saying that she was going for a walk. He left his mobile phone and purse at home.
