new Delhi. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that people of many farmer unions have supported the new agricultural laws without any change. In the midst of the farmers’ agitation on the borders of Delhi in protest against the new agricultural laws, people of farmer organizations supporting the law are constantly meeting the Agriculture Minister.
In this context, delegations of two different farmer organizations under the banner of Indian Kisan Union and Kisan Sangharsh Samiti met Union Minister Tomar on Tuesday at Krishi Bhavan here.
After meeting the representatives of the farmers associations, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said in a conversation with reporters, “Today many farmers union officials came. They are worried that the government is going to make any amendment in the laws. Are very effective from the point of view of welfare. They are beneficial for the farmers and should not be changed in any way. That is what they came to demand. ”
Officials of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, the organization of Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Budh Nagar and the Indian Farmers Union, an organization of farmers from all over the country, reached the Union Minister. He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha member Surendra Singh Nagar and former Uttarakhand minister Ramkumar Walia.
On this occasion, Chairman of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, Ajay Pal Pradhan said on the question asked by IANS that the new agricultural laws are very good and are in the interest of farmers, so there should be no change in it.
The Union Minister said that during this meeting with representatives of farmers, he also discussed some other problems.
At the same time, on the question asked about the issue of agitating farmers, Tomar said, “I hope that soon their discussions will be completed and they will come, discuss. We will find a solution.”
The repeal of three new agricultural laws, Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement Act 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020, implemented by the Central Government in September. Are demanding. They have been camping on the borders since 26 November on this demand.
The government proposes to consider the amendments to these laws as well as their other demands and appeals to start negotiations on them afresh. On the other hand, the protesting farmer organizations have rejected the government’s proposal.
Regarding the farmers’ organizations that support the law, the protesters say that these are organizations formed by the government and have nothing to do with farming.
