Lucknow. The Congress has kept the Uttar Pradesh team smaller than before, but the organization is being gradually expanded according to the need. In a further partial expansion, Team Priyanka has one general secretary and two new secretaries. Apart from applying caste equations, there has been an attempt to adjust the respect of the workers on behalf of the organization.
Three new office bearers of Uttar Pradesh were announced on behalf of All India Congress Committee’s Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal. Of these, Saif Ali Naqvi has been made the state general secretary and Gyanesh Shukla and Abhimanyu Singh as secretary. Saif Ali Naqvi, a resident of Lakhimpur, is the son of former MP Zafar Ali Naqvi and has also contested assembly elections on a Congress ticket. Currently, he was in charge of the charge of Gonda and Bahraich along with the secretary in the state unit. Now his stature has been increased.
At the same time, Abhimanyu Singh, who was made secretary, is an old veteran of the organization. He was also the state secretary along with the then state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Nirmal Khatri and Raj Babbar. Once in-charge of administration has also been made. Fatehpur resident Abhimanyu was a strong contender for the ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but former MP Rakesh Sachan, who had left the SP, got the ticket.
Similarly, Dnyanesh Shukla has been accommodated. He has been the Vice President of the Youth Congress and this time was considered to be a strong contender for the post of President. Some prominent officials of the state were also lobbying, but could not get the post of president. Now he has been given the honor by making him secretary in the main organization. The state unit of Congress now has 13 general secretaries and 24 secretaries.
