Dubai. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 10 runs in the third match of the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020). RCB, batting first, scored 163 for five in 20 overs. In response, the Hyderabad team returned to the pavilion for 153 runs in 19.4 overs. RCB captain Virat Kohli attributed the victory to spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal bowled brilliantly in the match, taking three wickets for 18 runs. He overturned the match with two balls and two wickets in the 16th over. In this over, he first bowled a brilliant batting Johnny Bairstow on a personal score of 61. Then on the next ball, Vijay Shankar was bowled. Earlier in the 12th over, he followed Manish Pandey to a personal score of 34. He was voted man of the match.
After the match, RCB captain Virat Kohli said that it was a great match to be honest. Last year we lost six matches in a row. Good enough to take a 1-0 lead. We kept the balance in the match. Yuji overturned the match as soon as he arrived. The spinners were not getting help from the pitch. Chahal has shown that he can bowl on any wicket. Their aggressive bowling overturned the match.
Padikkal performed brilliantly in debut match
Regarding batting, Kohli said that we started very well. Devdutt Padikkal performed brilliantly in the debut match. Aron Finch batted well. AB de Villiers’ batting in the last three overs helped us cross 160. He said that when you lose two wickets on two balls then you have to take care. Had it not been for two consecutive wickets, 10-20 runs would have been more.
What did chahal say
Chahal said that when I bowled my first over, I realized that I needed to bowl from the stump-to-stump line and I did the same. At one point of time he was batting well and I was trying to loop and keep the ball away from the batsmen, which helped build pressure.
