Meerut. Police officers are often targeted for leave. Such videos of angry police personnel keep going viral on social media. On Sunday, a head constable posted at Dial-112 asked for 45 days of earned (EL) leave for his wife’s delivery. Citing the festival, SSP Dr. Vipin Tada approved ten days of leave. Angered by this, the head constable’s wife posted a message against the SSP on X. It read, “You should have told me how I can get healthy after delivery in 10 days, Sir, have some shame for a woman.” On X, he also uploaded the ordered application, which was approved by all the officers. This post on X has created a stir in the department. This post remained a topic of discussion among the policemen throughout the day. This is the whole matter Head constable Praveen Kumar is posted as a driver at PRV Pallavpuram in Dial-112. Wife Deepa is pregnant. She is due to deliver soon. On 20 March, Praveen Kumar applied for 45 days leave from 3 April for his wife’s delivery.
The Transport Officer approved 30 days leave on his application on 27 March and sent the report to the In-charge SP Traffic. He recommended the same day and sent the application to SSP Meerut for approval.
SSP Dr. Vipin Tada approved 10 days leave on Praveen’s application. Praveen’s wife was upset with this order of SSP. On 28 March at 6.14 pm, she posted a message to SSP from her ex-account Deepa Kohli and also uploaded the approved application along with it.
It read, “Many thanks to Shriman SSP Meerut ji for giving my husband 10 days earned leave out of 45 days for my delivery, Shriman ji should also have told me how I can get healthy after delivery in 10 days, Shriman ji, have some shame for a woman”. As soon as this post of Deepa Kohli went viral on X, there was a stir in the department. The policemen kept discussing on this.
On the other hand, in-charge SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra denied having any knowledge of the post. He said, something can be said only after seeing the post. He is gathering information about the whole matter. An attempt was made to talk to SSP Dr. Vipin Tada but despite several calls, the conversation could not take place.
