An FIR has been registered against the priest for illegally selling the property of the temple to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya. In fact, the priest of Anand Bhavan temple built in Ayodhya is accused of illegally selling the land of the temple. In this case, the police has registered a criminal FIR against the priest. Police gave this information on Friday.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust manages the Ram temple. According to the police, the case has been registered after the order of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mahendra Singh Paswan of Ayodhya. Faizabad city Kotwali police registered a case against the priest of Anand Bhavan temple.
Land sold illegally
According to the complaint lodged by Anand Prakash Pathak, a member of the management committee of the temple, priest Ramakant Pathak sold 21,198.8 square feet of land adjacent to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex for Rs 6 crore on September 21, 2024. City Kotwali police station in-charge inspector Ashwini Pandey said that a case has been registered against the main accused Ramakant Pathak on charges of fraud and other crimes. Investigation has revealed that wrong information was given about the sale of land.
Case registered against priest
The illegal sale of temple land came to light when an attempt was made to register a case at the local police station, but no action was taken. The complainant approached the court, which ordered the registration of the case.
SHO Pandey said that the case has been registered after the court’s direction, and now the investigation is underway. Officials are investigating the matter. Legal action is expected as the investigation progresses.
