The Vande Bharat Express train going from Anand Vihar to Ayodhya escaped from colliding with a tractor standing near the railway track near village Bijhai situated between Phaphund and Kanchhosi station. During this time the train stood still for 10 minutes. The accident was averted due to the driver’s caution.
On receiving the information, the RPF arrested the tractor driver and detained the contractor and started investigation. The work of installing poles around the railway track is going on.
This is the whole matter
On Friday afternoon at around 12:30, the Vande Bharat train was going from Anand Vihar to Ayodhya. The tractor driver of village Bijhai situated between Phaphund and Kanchhosi railway station was backing the tanker and mixer machine. Meanwhile, a tractor came near the track, seeing which the train driver stopped the train.
On receiving the information of the train stopping, the RPF reached the spot. The train driver somehow took the train out at a slow speed. The train was running more than three hours late from its scheduled time.
Paphund RPF station in-charge Rajneesh Rai said that Vande Bharat Express was halted for more than 10 minutes due to a tractor mixer machine coming near the railway line. The matter is being investigated. The working contractor and tractor driver Vinay Kumar, a resident of Barabanki, have been brought to the police station and are being questioned.
Railways issued warning to contractors
Railways Public Relations Officer Prayagraj Division Amit Singh said that the contractor had used tractor-trolley in the work being done by the Railways. There was no problem as it was away from the track.
The accident was averted due to the presence of mind of the driver of Vande Bharat Express going from Anand Vihar to Ayodhya. The driver has been arrested while confiscating the tractor-trolley. The contractor has also been questioned. To avoid such a situation in future, a warning has been issued to the contractors associated with the development work going on at all places including the Delhi-Howrah railway line.
