Hathras. A big accident took place on Agra-Aligarh highway on Friday evening. A high speed Janrath Roadways bus and a Tata Magic loader collided head-on. 15 people travelling in the loader died in the accident. These include seven men, four women and four children.
18 people have been seriously injured. Most of them are from the same family. Some are neighbours. Eight injured have been referred to Aligarh. All are from village Samra in Khandauli area of Agra. They were returning from Sasni town of Hathras after attending a condolence ceremony at a relative’s place. This bus of Aligarh depot was going to Dehradun. Its driver and conductor have also been injured. The cause of the accident is said to be overtaking.
Head-on collision, vehicles entered bushes
Rajuddin, a resident of Mukund Kheda village of Sasni area, has his in-laws’ house in Samra village of Khandauli police station area of Agra. Rajuddin’s grandmother Angoori had passed away. It was his 40th day on Friday. Around 25-30 people from Rajuddin’s in-laws’ house had come to attend the ceremony. Everyone was returning in a Tata Magic loader. There were around 35 people in the loader.
Around 6:30 pm, near Meetai village on the bypass, the Tata Magic collided with a Janrath Roadways bus coming from the opposite direction. Both the vehicles went out of control and fell into ditches and bushes on the side of the road.
Everyone was terrified seeing the accident. There was a traffic jam. People of the area and passersby rushed to help. Police force from Chandpa, Hathras Gate, Hathras Sadar, Saadabad, Sasni police station also reached there. Police and fire brigade teams searched for the injured in the bushes. The bodies trapped in the vehicles were taken out and taken to the hospital.

The accident occurred due to overtaking on the bypass in Hathras. 15 people have died in this. 18 people have been injured. The injured have been referred to Aligarh. Treatment of others is going on. Action will be taken according to the complaint received from the deceased’s side.

CM expressed condolences
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the accident in Hathras. He has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. He has instructed the officials to provide proper treatment to the injured. Also, he wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak have also expressed condolences.
Two lakhs to the dependents of the deceased and fifty thousand to the injured
The PM Office has expressed condolences over the accident. Also, the PM Office has announced compensation for the victim families. According to the post made on X in this regard, it has been announced to give two lakh rupees to the families of the deceased and fifty thousand rupees to the families of the injured. This amount will be given from the PMNRF fund.
