Women’s hockey coach Neha Singh, posted at Sonakpur Stadium in Civil Lines area of Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, was badly beaten by a player with a hockey stick and ran away from there. Due to this, the coach suffered a minor fracture in one hand, while the fingers of the other hand were seriously injured.
The coach has filed a complaint against the player in the Civil Lines police station. Taking cognizance of the incident, police have taken legal action in the matter. Coach Neha Singh told that the accused is a 16 year old player. He practices hockey under him in the stadium. Two days ago he was thrown out of the match due to indiscipline.
Was forbidden to play without permission
The coach had forbidden him to play without permission, but he came to the stadium and started practicing. The coach expressed displeasure on this and said that after taking permission from whom did you take the hockey stick? When the coach scolded him, he started abusing and threatened to hit him with a hockey stick.
Meanwhile, the player attacked the woman three-four times with a hockey stick. When the other player tried to stop her, he also threatened to beat her. After doing this the accused ran away by jumping over the wall of the stadium. The female coach told that the mother of the accused runs a kiosk near the stadium. He has information about the entire matter. A complaint has been lodged against the accused at Ramganga Vihar outpost and Civil Lines police station. In this case, the police has arrested the accused player.
In the incident of assault, the left hand has been fractured and there is an open injury on the right hand, in which five stitches have been applied. The coach told that she is training 35 students, in which one student has committed an incident of assault. For about one and a half years, women coaches have been imparting hockey training at Sonakpur Stadium. The coach was assaulted only because he had prevented the student from playing unfairly.
