Amethi. Today, in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh, the Enforcement Directorate took major action and raided the house of Gudda Devi, close to former minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati. There is a lot of tense atmosphere after the raid. Late in the evening, a wall of Gudda Devi’s house was broken, in which a huge amount of cash was recovered.
The ED team reached Gudda Devi’s house with a big machine to count the cash. After raiding throughout the day, the ED team left Gudda Devi’s house late in the evening. There were also two suitcases with the team, which were said to contain recovered cash and other documents.
The Enforcement Directorate ED team reached the house of Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who was a cabinet minister in the SP government, to raid the house at 6 am on Thursday. Three teams of the Enforcement Directorate are examining the records related to benami property. ED is also raiding the house of former cabinet minister’s close aide Gudda Devi and interrogating her. It is also coming to light that a raid will be conducted on a residence in Lucknow.
Sources said that raids are being conducted at Prajapati’s house in Lucknow. The money laundering case, registered by the ED in 2021, comes after the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Department’s FIR against Gayatri Prajapati and people associated with him for illegal sand mining and possessing disproportionate assets.
In January, the ED had seized four flats in Mumbai worth over Rs 13 crore and several lands in Lucknow belonging to Prajapati, his family members and associates. This action was taken after the ED conducted a search.
